Policy on Generative Artificial Intelligence Tools

Policy on Generative Artificial Intelligence Tools in “Computer Systems and Information Technologies Journal

Generative artificial intelligence can help with writing a document, but it should be used responsibly!!!

This Policy aims to provide transparency on how authors, readers, reviewers, and editors should use generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools when writing/reviewing/editing articles that will subsequently be published in the Journal.

If an author uses generative AI tools, they should only assist in improving the manuscript, not create manuscripts for the author. All sections of the article must be written by human authors. In addition:

  • the author must declare the use of generative AI tools in the article. This declaration helps maintain trust and transparency and ensures compliance with the terms of use of these tools. This policy applies only to new content (from No. 4 in 2025) and not to previously published works;
  • the author must review and edit any content created by artificial intelligence. Simply copying and pasting generated content is strictly prohibited! The author of the manuscript is responsible for its content;
  • the author must not list artificial intelligence tools as authors. The journal “Computer Systems and Information Technologies” publishes original works by human authors! The contribution of generative AI tools must be disclosed in the mandatory section of the manuscript “Declaration on the use of generative artificial intelligence tools,” which is placed before the List of references.

The following is unacceptable:

  • using generative AI tools to create new text, paragraphs, or sections;
  • using generative AI tools to translate a work into English without further editorial revision;
  • paraphrasing/improving entire paragraphs/sections/text of an article without critical review and evaluation by a human;
  • using generative AI tools to create visual content such as diagrams, charts and illustrations.

The journal's editorial board requires all authors to adhere to these rules. Violation of these rules will result in the rejection of article during the review process and / or removal of the published article!

Section “Declaration on the use of generative artificial intelligence tools

Authors are required to declare and describe in detail the specific contribution of any generative AI tools and services used in the preparation of their work. This ensures transparency and provides readers, reviewers, and editors with a clear understanding of the role that generative AI played in the creation of the published work.

This section of the article should contain the following information:

  • a complete list of all generative AI tools and services used, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepL Translate, Grammarly, and others;
  • a precise description of the specific contribution of each generative AI tool or service.

Example of a declaration

In preparing this work, the author(s) used ChatGPT and Grammarly for: grammar and spelling checks, paraphrasing, and rephrasing. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content and take(s) full responsibility for the content of this publication.
